Author's Note
The lyrics of FANS have been written to scan to the music of "Cats" by Andrew Lloyd-Webber. To be more specific, they scan with the original London cast album. Those who try to follow along with the Broadway recording or the recent televised version will probably end up being terribly confused, as there are a number of important differences between them. The lyrics on the Broadway album were seriously abbreviated in favor of extended instrumental riffs and the TV version jettisoned even more. Also, two songs in the show were drastically re-worked with entirely new music which, though they admittedly were huge improvements for "Cats", turned out to be simply deadly for FANS.

I've made only one departure from the flow of the album; "The Terrible War Of The Preens And Politicals" is based on "The Awful Battle Of The Pekes And The Pollicles", a number which, though it is a part of the stage show, (and was included in the TV version) does not appear on any cast album. I've included it anyway, for the sake of story continuity and character development.

Further, it must be noted that FANS is a fantasy and any similarity between the characters in this story and any persons living, dead, or just plain hanging around is entirely unintentional.
